About Me
Welcome to Life, Unedited. I am so thrilled you are here to join me as I try to figure things out. You see, when someone has asked me to write a Bio or an "About Me" paragraph, I always stop and wonder, "Hmm...should I write the fancy paragraph that brags about all my accomplishments, or do I really want people to know ME...eh..maybe not."
The truth is, lately, I don't want to be known for the titles, or roles that I play on the daily. I am a 48 year old woman that is still trying to figure out life and my purpose here.
I am a mother of two beautiful daughters, whom I call my best friends. Becoming a mother has, by far, been the most challenging, yet most rewarding and fulfilling role I've had. It is because of my two daughters that I am still here alive, and the grace of God, of course. My daughters have served as my life anchors, especially when I've found myself at the edge of life, at the shore, on the precipice of the insurmountable. (More on that later).
I was born and raised in California to Mexican parents and yes, I speak 100% Spanish. I very much embrace the Latino culture, I speak Spanglish and I cook the food, dance the music and occassionally will participate in the Grito! (IYKYK)
I currently life in Florida and I love my home. I love the beach, the hot weather.
I try, for the most part, to live life out loud.
I want you to know me as someone that loved life. That went for it. That didn't conform to societal norms, that challenged the status quo...(believe me).
I want you to know that I am a woman who loves her children, would like to become a better mother. I love my parents and my siblings and I would like to become a better daughter and sister.
I love my husband Michael, and everyday, I strive to become a better life partner, lover, friend and wife.
But more importantly, no matter what role I play, or what title is given to me (or that I choose), I want to be remembered as a woman who Loves God. I am after the Nazarene's steps. I want to touch Jesus' garment and be healed. (Matthew 9:20-22)
It is my hope that you find support, words of comfort, and know that you are seen and heard. I don't know how to live life other than be real and transparent. Even if that means sometimes exposing my flaws and embarrassing myself. If that can reach someone out there facing the cold, dark loneliness....I see you. I've been there, too.
Welcome, my beloveds!
Your friend,
💙 Mirza
