Welcome to Life, Unedited

Hi, I’m Mirza. Writing an “About Me” page is a funny thing. Am I supposed to give you the polished list of accomplishments, or tell you who I really am? These days, I’m far less interested in being known by my titles. I’m a 48-year-old woman who is still figuring out life, purpose, and what it means to become who God created me to be.

​

I’m the mother of two beautiful daughters whom I call my best friends. Motherhood has been my most challenging and rewarding role, and my daughters have anchored me through some of life’s darkest seasons. I’m also a wife to Michael, and I’m continually learning how to love my family more fully—not perfectly, but intentionally.

​

I was born in California to Mexican parents, speak Spanish and Spanglish, cook the food, dance to the music, and occasionally participate in el Grito—IYKYK. I now live in Florida, where I feel at home near the beach, beneath the sunshine, and in weather hot enough to make everyone else complain.

​

I have never fit neatly into most molds. I question things, challenge expectations, color outside the lines, and try to live life out loud. I want to be remembered as a woman who loved deeply, kept going, and, above everything else, loved God. I am following the footsteps of the Nazarene, still reaching for the hem of His garment and believing in His healing grace. (Matthew 9:20–22)

Here, I share life honestly—even when honesty reveals my flaws or embarrasses me a little. If my stories can reach someone walking through a cold or lonely season, I want you to know: I see you. I have been there too, and you are not alone.
